The Founder
Emily Murnen
Emily founded Wild Elm Events in 2016 in order to bring community and connection to the forefront of events. Her event experience spans from a 10-person retreat for a business coach to a 1,000 person corporate conference, and everything in between. Her days are now filled with logistics, sales, and putting her 15 years of corporate and nonprofit event planning & strategy to work. She’s been featured in Forbes and has been a guest expert on several podcasts and in various memberships. When she’s not helping businesses create incredible live and virtual events, you might find her enjoying a game night with friends (pre-pandemic), out on an adventure with her two kids, or drinking tea while reading a book on her couch in Portland, Oregon.
Fun Facts About Emily:
- Started a farmers market in her neighborhood 10 years ago (and it’s still going strong today!)
- Sucker for mystery novels and British crime shows
- Born and raised in Orange County, California – the beach has always been her happy place
- First business was selling Now & Laters in the 1st Grade at recess for a 10 cent profit! Sadly was shut down after two weeks when a parent complained.
- Has re-read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho more than any other book
